Community garden and gathering space

This intervention seeks to create a moment of stillness and order within an amorphous patch occupying the centre of the site—an existing space in disrepair and disuse. It sits within the larger landscape of a multi-family housing complex, multi-cultural and diverse in its resident make-up.
Our proposal works lightly and deftly to repair and revitalize this community space by integrating new with remaining elements. Sitting calmly within the irregular and patchwork landscape, the Circle can act as both a refuge for quiet contemplation and a social space for gatherings.
